Author: Jeri Denniston

I'm a strategic management and marketing professional with 30+ years of experience helping clients with business planning and marketing strategies. During those same 30+ years, I have suffered with fibromyalgia syndrome, having been diagnosed at a time when few doctors knew what it was. This made me an advocate for managing my health through natural means. Over time, I've learned how stress, gut health, and certain foods affect the symptoms either positively or negatively. My objective with this blog site is to share that experience and some of my favorite recipes in the hopes that other fibromyalgia sufferers and their families find the information helpful. I hope you join me on this journey.

Week 5 of the Plant Paradox Program

Posted on 10/13/202510/13/2025 by Jeri Denniston

Two days into Week 5, I awoke at 2 am with my heart beating really hard, a pulse of 125, and feeling fatigued, like I had run a marathon. When I tested my blood pressure at 5:47 am, it was really low, 98/55 with a pulse of 130.

Week 4 of Plant Paradox Program

Posted on 10/07/202510/13/2025 by Jeri Denniston

This week I’ve started week four of the 6-week Phase 2 part of the Plant Paradox eating plan. My biggest challenge is that my husband continues to eat the foods we’ve always eaten, non-organic chicken, pork, and farm-raised shrimp, and sometimes grass-fed beef burgers. The spices he uses smell wonderful!

Weeks 2-3 of Plant Paradox Program

After reading Dr. Gundry’s book, I’ve learned that not all gluten-free flours are good for the gut because the grains, including brown rice, are processed with the hull where the lectins live. He explains that Asians have always removed the hull and only cooked white rice for the reason that white rice was nicer on the digestive system.

Week 1 of Plant Paradox Program

Posted on 09/14/202510/13/2025 by Jeri Denniston

Eight days ago, I started a new eating plan based on Dr. Steven Gundry’s book, The Plant Paradox. After reading the first several chapters that explain plant biology and how plants with seeds produce a type of poison called “lectin” to protect their seeds, I decided to try his suggested eating program. In each chapter…

My Health and Weight Loss Journey

Posted on 09/05/202510/13/2025 by Jeri Denniston

I’ve been on a health and weight loss jouney since January 2023. The primary goal has been to rid my body of the inflammation causing all the joint and muscle pain. The side effect has been significant weight loss without taking special supplements or eating pre-packaged meals. I started at 249 pounds. Today I’m 181…

Your Body Has Two Brains

Posted on 08/20/202509/21/2025 by Jeri Denniston

You know about the one in your head, of course, but there’s also one in your gut. This one decides what’s considered food and what isn’t. It knows what you need for nutrition. Your “gut brain” processes the antigens (molecules recognized by your system) and has a memory of what it’s supposed to digest, what…

Spiritual Growth at the Pace of Guidance

Posted on 08/15/202509/21/2025 by Jeri Denniston

Equilibrium and Muscle Strength Are Better 8/15/2025 I’m better this morning in terms of my equilibrium and muscle strength. I’m walking more independently, but my muscles weaken if I try to walk too long around the house. Yesterday I had the MRI on the sacral/coccyx area. For me, it was 25 minutes of total relaxation…

Food-Mind-Body Connection

Posted on 08/14/202509/21/2025 by Jeri Denniston

My Journey of Spiritual Growth and Body Health I’ve been absent for a while, distracted by daily life. Plus, my book on the connection between food and fibromyalgia, which I thought was ready for publication, still needs a great deal of editing to publish even as a PDF let alone a Kindle book. I don’t…

Starting Month 3 of Restore 3

Posted on 07/01/2024 by Jeri Denniston

I’m starting month 3 of the Restore 3 program and it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster. I knew it would be since prior experience with a gut health cleanse was the same. This time, I’ve had headaches, muscle aches, continued sinus congestion, and days of severe balance issues. I don’t know if the balance…
